Michael moved to Panama City, Florida, in 1974. Prior to moving here, he received a degree in biology from the University of Utah and a graduate degree in marine environmental studies from the State University of New York. After thirty years as a marine ecologist with the Panama City Field Office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, he retired to accept the position of executive director for the St. Andrew Bay Environmental Study Team, Inc. He also served for twelve years on the adjunct faculty of Gulf Coast Community College. Michael spends most of his discretionary time on his second vocation: writing. He has written two horror/mystery thrillers. Ascent of Evil and Inherited Evil are the first two books of his Darke Lyfe Trilogy. He is now completing the third novel of the trilogy: Arcanum of Evil, to be released by Brothersons Press on October 1. He is also at work on a thriller novel about a psychopathic astronomer. His short stories will appear later this year as the collection Thirteen Tales of Eclectic Evil. He is a member of the Horror Writers Association and the Florida Writers Association. He has authored or co-authored numerous scientific publications and reports, and has written for Florida Sportsman magazine. Michael is happily married to his wife, Devona. Together they wrote a print-on-demand personal development book for women, About Your Man.
