Dr. Green, a former special operations flight surgeon, formed part of the military team that captured Saddam Hussein in December 2003. He currently works for Bay Medical as the Bay Medical Center Emergency Service Director. Dr. Green is the author of the book A Night with Saddam: A Special Ops Flight Surgeon's interview with Saddam Hussein on the night of his capture, and the missions which led to their meeting. Following his residency in emergency medicine, Dr. Green was assigned as the flight surgeon for the 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). There he served alongside some of the nation's most elite warriors on two tours--- in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and one in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). He participated in planning and providing medical coverage for some of OIF and OEF's most covert operations. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star, The Air Medal with "V" device for Valor, The Air Medal, and the Combat Medical Badge. |
