Daniel Wallace

Daniel is the author of four  novels, Big Fish (1998), Ray in Reverse (2000) ,  The Watermelon King (2003), and Mr. Sebastian and the Negro Magician (2007) .   His stories have been published far and wide in many magazines and anthologies, including The Yale Review, The Massachusetts Review, Shenandoah and Glimmer Train, and his illustrated work has appeared in the L.A. Times, Italian Vanity Fair, and many other magazines and books.   Big Fish has been translated into 18 languages and was adapted for film by Tim Burton and John August, and is now available on DVD.   Daniel has also written a children's book called Elynora (2008);  it was published in Italy and illustrated by Daniela Tordi.   O Great Rosenfeld!, the only book both written and illustrated by the author, has been released in France and Korea and is forthcoming in Italy, There  currently are no plans for an American edition.

Daniel lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with his wife and son and teaches English  at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
