Beverly Mount-Douds, Local Historian

 

 

Beverly Mount-Douds Beverly was born and raised in Bay County, Florida.  She is the founder and president of the Gulf County Genealogical Society (G.C.G.S).   Under Beverly's leadership with her drive and love of all things genealogical and historical, G.C.G.S. has flourished. Beverly is also a member of the St. Joseph Historical Society and Friends of the Library, Inc.  Beverly currently lives in Port St. Joe, Florida.

Beverly's first book, Lighthouse Keepers (2004) is a historical account of three local lighthouses and generations of keepers on the "Forgotten Coast" of Florida.  Beverly's second and third publications, Gulf County (2007) and Apalachicola (2009) portray Gulf County and Apalachicola histories via photographs.

Today,  you'll find Beverly out at the Cape San Blas Lighthouse, where she operates the Sleeping Beauty gift shop.  In her spare time, she is working with another historian on an upcoming book about the Forgotten Coast.
