A practicing attorney, Sid knows all the moves of legendary golfer Bobby Jones. Sidney L. Matthew is an accomplished trial lawyer with over 36 years experience. During the early 1980’s, Matthew’s law firm litigated against the Atlanta firm of Robert Tyre (Bobby) Jones, Jr. (Jones, Bird and Howell), which has resulted in Matthew publishing 8 of his 12 golf books on Bobby Jones.  In 1996, Matthew produced the acclaimed documentary film about The Life and Times of Bobby Jones broadcast on CBS, NBC, and The Golf Channel over the past dozen years and narrated by legendary actor and golfer Sir Sean Connery.  Matthew is an honorary member of East Lake Golf Club (Jones’ ancestral course in Atlanta) where he also serves as Curator and Historian.  He is also an honorary member at Glen Arven Country Club, and Dunedin Country Club, and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, Scotland.  Finally, Matthew is the Director of the Bob Jones Scholarship Trust, which provides for a student exchange program between St. Andrews University, Scotland, and Emory and Georgia Tech Universities. He is the author of Bobby Jones on Golf (1997), Wry Stories on the Road Hole (2000), and Bobby: the Life and Times of Bobby Jones (2005).
