The Bay County Library Foundation invites all pastors and choirs to come to the Bay County Public Library to sing “Hallelujah”!
The Library Foundation is bringing in the three authors of We Are Charleston, which uses the horrible event that occurred at the Emanuel AME church as the jumping off point to tell some history as well as to illuminate how an event that could have fomented hate was transformed into an event that yielded forgiveness and love and which brought a community together. Please note that the Library Foundation is interested in bringing authors to our area and to shine a light on literacy, and it is the Board’s opinion that having the historian, the pastor and the South Carolina Poet Laureate, authors of this work, in our community is a great way to encourage literacy across Bay County.
There is no rehearsal involved; there is no pressure to participate; there is no cost. It would just mean showing up at the Bay County Public Library for a 6pm start on Friday, February 3rd and singing this song and perhaps one other just for the sheer joy of singing, and those who desire to remain for the uplifting insight of these three authors are welcome to do so.
